The Gasol Foundation provides resources for children to live in a healthier environment. Through their foundation, Marc and Pau Gasol promote physical activity and healthier eating habits in schools. Their goal is to reduce childhood obesity.
Pau Gasol constantly visits patients at the Children’s Hospital of LA. He talks with them and with the doctors, and he has sometimes been by their side during surgery in the operating theater.
Pau, along with Marc, supports Hoops for St Jude, a program planned by the NBA that raises funds for St Jude Hospital in Memphis. The hospital has a worldwide reputation for its cancer treatment and research.
Pau Gasol is an Ambassador of the Mujeres por África foundation. Its goal is to promote equality inside African societies and to improve the countries’ education and health systems, their economies, and women’s rights.
Last summer, the Gasol brothers launched the “Healthy Competition” and welcomed children from Memphis (coached by Marc Gasol) and from Los Angeles (coached by Pau) to join them in the challenge to lead as healthy a life as possible, combining exercise with healthy eating habit
