"An African-American founded organization, providing direct support to children affected by HIV / AIDS , poverty and war throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Save Africas Children Milestones Over the past 12 years Save Africa’s Children has contributed to over 450 orphan care programs in 23 sub-Saharan African nations. The work has benefitted over 230,000 children impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The spectrum of our work not only includes meeting the immediate needs of these children by providing grants for nutrition, clean water and medical attention; but also ensuring that they also are equipped with the necessities to have a brighter future. Since 2002, SAC has had the opportunity to provide the following: educationwaternutritionhealth Built 20 Clean water wells Charles E. Blake Water Well (Lusaka, Zambia) Supported over 60 education programs Through Gwen Thomas Basic Education, supported over 17 schools On average the Dagoretti Medical Clinic, which receives funding from SAC, has treated 4,000 people a year. Treated approximately 5000 individuals through the Medical Camps in Nairobi and Namanga Kenya. Built 12 schools and classrooms. Helped start 30 Income Generating Projects, to ensure that programs will be able to sustain themselves Supported 26 Nutrition Programs Dispersed more than 470 grants providing basic program and operational support Supported displaced children in 2007 during upheaval in Kenya Helped rebuild COGIC Orphanage in Haiti after the 2010 Earth Quake Provided educational support for displaced children currently living in South Sudan"
