"Neighbor’s Keeper, a nonprofit, 501c3 education organization, is a community educator to health care consumers founded on expanding access to health care for low to moderate income households under the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) There are many elements of the ACA-it is approximately 2700 pages in length- one being health promotion to foster prevention and early detection of illness and disease that left untreated only causes personal distress and financial hardship for individuals and families. The ACA challenges individuals and families, employers and employees to become educated consumers in matters of personal health and well-being. As we all know health care costs are increasing at unsustainable rates thus requiring individuals to take on greater levels of personal responsibility for health care treatment and purchase decisions less they be priced out of the market. Such decisions require knowledge, information, and access to affordable health care so Neighbor’s Keeper exists to educate health care consumers to live productive lives that enable them to be a Neighbor’s Keeper.
